Working with Text Fields
Text fields are the editable areas on your design where you add names, dates, messages and other personalised content. This page explains how to edit existing text and add new fields.
Editing existing text
Your design arrives with placeholder text already in place. Click once to select a field, then click again to place your cursor and start typing. You can also paste text in directly from another source.
Please check all wording carefully before proceeding to checkout, particularly names and dates. Amendments aren't possible once payment has been confirmed.
Adding a new text field
To add a text field that isn't already on the design, drag Add Text from the Fields panel onto the canvas, position it, and type your content.
Please note: new text fields use a different default font to the one used in your design. Once your text is in place, open the Text Options panel and use the font selector to match it to the rest of your design.
Formatting your text
Click a text field to open the Text Options panel on the right:
- Font – choose from the available fonts. Your design's font is shown when you click an existing field.
- Style – bold, italic, underline and strikethrough, where available for your chosen font.
- Alignment – set horizontal (left, centre, right) and vertical (top, middle, bottom) position.
- Scale – adjust size using the slider or by typing a value directly.
The panel also includes Arrange (to control layering where fields overlap) and Manage (to duplicate, reset, or delete a field).
Advanced options
The Text Options panel has additional tabs for border and background styling, shadow effects, and precise field positioning in millimetres. These are not needed for most orders but are there if you want to explore them.
A note on consistency
Keeping your text consistent across all fields, same font, same size, same alignment, will always give the most professional result.
